About our Masterpiece Doors

We exclusively use a fabulous EXTERIOR WEATHERPROOF SOLID COMPOSITE MILLWORK SUBSTITUTE similar to  other new exterior composite products like TREK Decking or Azeck cellular vinyl boards.   Today's consumers are wanting better performing, more reliable products with less maintenance.  "Our goal for 37 years has been to exceed our customers expectations".  With our advanced manufacturing techniques,  wonderful new space age composites and our artistic designs, we meet our goals.  Satisfying You! Our knowledge of the door business is unmatched by any company.  Our dedication to customer service, quality design, innovative products, timely delivery and a fair price, makes us the absolute best choice for your decorative door needs. We have never had a claim against weathering or even one single return!   We have our doors installed from Calgary Canada, to Phoenix Arizona with equal performance!  Our Masterpiece Composite doors are perfect, especially for any kind of harsh environment where doors are subject to salt air, direct sun, direct weather, snow etc. We have been very successful in creating several beautiful unique exterior finishes including our solid bronze  finishes and very unique old world wood toned Rustic finishes. Masterpiece Entry Doors  have the extra quality of being very dense and heavy, which gives our doors a great solid feel.

Our specialty is making custom doors.  When you are replacing an old door, we can make your new door unit to fit in exactly where the old one was.  You can even change your door style from sidelights to doubles or from double to sidelights and transom.  All without costly carpentry charges to change your opening or walls. We have had nothing but positive response to our Masterpiece Doors.  Our Masterpiece Doors are absolutely best exterior doors on the market.  Where not making just a doors, we are making conversation pieces!

About Iron Doors - We love the Old World look of iron doors, but this style door has many issues.  Of course we are in the decorative door business and want satisfy all of our customers needs for decorative doors. But, after researching all of the aspects of Iron Door Sales, service and installation we just had to opt not to sell these type of doors.  Here's why:

  • When you see an "IRON DOOR" you are not looking at IRON! You are looking at paint! All the iron/steel doors are painted!  Many of these finishes are cheap and unattractive as they or being painted in a third world country that does not have the aesthetic or quality standards we have in the US.  How will you touch-up, repair or refurbish the faux finish on these doors?
  •   Extreme weight (1600lbs) for a double door set has 3 important potential negative effects.
  • 1. Freight Cost - All freight is rated on the basis of both weight and distance,  we concluded that Iron Door Freight alone would add $100's if not $1,000's of dollars to our customers order.  If you do buy an iron door from another door company, make sure you have an iron clad freight quote before you order.  Many dealers are acting like it's just a routine freight bill like any other door and it's not. And, what about just getting these doors off the freight truck?  Who can lift 1600lbs. without special equipment?
  • 2. Damage to your home.  Yes, these doors are so heavy and the typical wood frame home was not designed for such heavy doors,  your home can become damaged by a few accidental "slams" of these heavy doors,  The vibration can loosen bricks, stone and even the wood stud frame of the house it's self.  I know this sounds like bull, but I have herd it from other customers, seen it in person myself and had it acknowledged by the company sales rep that I was interviewing in consideration of adding their iron doors to our product line.  In fact,  he also explained, that his doors nor other brands on the market feature the typical "door latch" hardware because the no brands of latches were "strong enough" to hold the doors closed, so the only option a customer has for hardware is a "pull handle and a deadbolt".  I am sorry, but that wouldn't go down to well with our customers,  I don't believe they want to have to throw a deadbolt to secure their door every time someone comes and goes through the door.

3.  The cost and quality of the installation itself.  The door frames on the units have "tabs" that must be fastened to the stud frame of your homes basic structure.  Sounds simple enough, but from an installers point of view it can be quite complicated and expensive to reveal enough "frame" to secure these "tabs" without interfering with your existing exterior molding, stone, brick etc.  Matching accessory pre-finished moldings and trims are not included with iron doors as they are in our other doors so trimming out, and re-casing your door could be difficult if not a real nightmare. In interviewing potential installers of these doors a could not find anyone, trained, equipped and knowledgeable about the process and it's potential pitfalls.  Our mahogany and Masterpiece composite doors are easy to install and routine for any experienced carpenter or tradesmen.  The last thing we want to do is take your order and then shrug our shoulders if you have any problems.  That's just not how we operate.  We know the door business and would not sell you anything we could not expertly handle.  We just couldn't serve you properly with iron doors.

The biggest problem of all is the fact that ALL of these doors will RUST.  All iron that is outside will RUST!  Iron Doors have  HOLLOW Rails and Stiles (the sides top and bottom) that are filled with urethane foam. Here's the problem: After your door is installed and the air conditioning is turned on, atmospheric moisture (condensation) will  find its way into the hollow internal core.  In the manufacturing process it is impossible to seal the complete skin of the steel. Similar to a failed insulated glass unit, over time, this moisture builds-up, and starts rusting the inside core of the door! Keep in mind the internal core of the door is unpainted unfinished steel. There is no way for you to see this happening or fix it. Eventually, maybe in  2 or 3  years the rust will "come thru". Much like the appearance of rust damage on an older car, the rust starts to look like blisters near the bottom of the door. At least Iron Doors should be galvanized and/or powder coated, but they are not!

Our Masterpiece Weatherproof doors are not made of Iron.  On our Masterpiece Composite Doors, our Iron styling is made from the same solid composite material the door is made of. They cannot and will not rust and come with a 10 year unconditional warranty. However,  our line of our Masterpiece Doors  are also offered with an Authentic Iron Grill. These exterior grills although they are solid wrought iron and have been sandblasted, chemically cleaned , sealed and powder coated to prevent rust,  will eventually develop rust.  And thus are not warranted against rust. Only our Masterpiece Composite Door can have the iron door look and a warranty of no rust.

We also offer our designs in rustic old world wood finishes too. We think our doors are more appropriate for blending traditional style of architecture with the "Old World" wrought iron look, so popular today with Traditional, Country French, Cottage, Arts & Crafts, Colonial.

Our design choices are unlimited and made to fit your home. Look at our before and after pictures on our Before and After  page.
